of Excellence Winner
School Building Week's School of the Future student design competition offers an opportunity to illustrate the kind of creativity that students bring to the design process. The annual competition, open to middle school students, challenges student teams to redesign their schools to enhance learning, conserve resources, be environmentally responsive and engage the surrounding community.

Well planned, high performing, healthy, safe and sustainable buildings foster student achievement and well-being and provide centers of community. Involve your students in your school and School Building Week – they bring a special creativity to the design process! Access safety checklists, school and classroom inventories, federal resources and websites.

As centers of community, our nation's schools are the building blocks of communities and the keystone of our future. A wealth of information is at your fingertips, including facility facts, state facility guidelines, and pertinent articles.
