PARTNERS Association of School Business Officials

Association of School Business Officials

Founded in 1910, the Association of School Business Officials International is a professional association of more than 6,300 school business management professionals responsible for the financial concerns of America's public and private schools. ASBO's mission is to provide programs and services to promote the standards of school business management practices, growth, and the effective use of educational resources.

ASBO's members are involved in all aspects of school buildings, from making sure money is available through local bond issues to financial areas related to construction and maintenance management; as the schools are operating they are also concerned with facilities management. ASBO's members understand the importance of good school design, especially in its relationship to student performance, proper allocation of scarce resources, and sustainable design guidelines.

ASBO publishes School Business Affairs, a monthly journal that covers the full spectrum of school business management concerns, and ASBO Accents Online, the web-enabled membership newsletter. ASBO also manages the Certificate of Excellence and Meritorious Budget Award programs designed to help school business officials develop easily understandable and effective financial documents and budgets, as well as recognize the schools that exhibit outstanding document presentation. ASBO recognizes outstanding achievements by school business officials through the highly acclaimed Eagle and Pinnacle Awards. For additional information, visit ASBO's website, www.asbointl.org, or call 703.478.0405.
