CHPS is leading a national movement to improve student performance and the entire educational experience by building the best possible schools. To achieve this goal, we maintain the nation’s most authoritative criteria and resources for building energy-efficient, cost-effective schools. To date, more than 325 schools have been built or are being built using the CHPS high performance building criteria. The CHPS Criteria has been adapted for eight states, four of which have special funding for CHPS schools. Our technical resources are designed to help school districts in every community across the country reduce operating costs, achieve higher student performance, increase daily attendance, retain quality teachers and staff, and minimize environmental impact.
